"The Onion" reminds me of a prank I pulled on a friend years ago. He was a die-hard "Buy American" NASCAR fan. We were having a conversation about foreign brands racing in NASCAR, and he wouldn't have any of it. So I did a little research and crafted a fake press release about Toyota entering NASCAR. He flipped! Funny thing - about 4 years later, they actually did! And their press release was ALMOST IDENTICAL to my fake release! It would have been good "Onion" fodder!!!
