My first earthquake

I have been visiting a friend in Reno, Nevada for the past few days and at approximately 1:44 am Pacific Time this morning I was jolted awake by a 3.0 earthquake. By most standards it was certainly no major quake but it was enough to wake me up from a sound sleep. I guess I can now scratch "Survive an earthquake" off of my life's to do list.

I took a trip to Lake Tahoe yesterday and found it to be a very beautiful place. I was amazed at the sight of swimmers and kayakers in the lake against the backdrop of snow capped mountains. The only regret that I have is that my girlfriend was not with me to experience it with me.

Now I really feel crappy about my bowling skills!

If a blind bowler can score 300 how bad does that make me?

Stone Mountain Bike Ride

I took my new road bike out to Stone Mountain this afternoon for a ride.  Prior to starting the ride I had grandiose thoughts of being able to make at least two laps around the mountain.  That thought evaporated from my mind after the first brutal hill.  I was lucky to make it one lap and to be honest, on the last hill I was a little bit pitiful.  I kept moving but I was being passed by ants.

To celebrate the lap around the mountain I rewarded myself with more than 3 pounds of buy one get one free boxes of Froot Loops cereal.   You gotta celebrate the small victories!
